Cortijo
Located over the 690,000 square metres of land are 16 derelict Cortijos, each with their own land. A cortijo is a typical traditional Spanish home that is often found in a rural setting. People often get confused with the difference between a Finca and a Cortijo. Generally, a Cortijo is a more substantial building, often with out buildings such as stables and have more land.
The 16 cortijos have all been properly registered at the property registry. The cortijos including the land range in size from 23 to 178 square metres. The table provides details of the approximate land area each cortijo is allocated.
Cortijada
The cortijada is a group of cortijos that could be compared to a small village or urbanisation. The cortijada is located at the heart of the site and consists of cortijos 1-7 which are densely packed together. The views from this particular location are spectacular and it is likely that any prospective purchaser would want to focus his development around this area.
Development
The land and the Cortijos have potential options for either new development or re-development. For more information go to Development and Strategies.
